SJC: The 10-Year Timeline

  • Launch | 2012-2015

Sarah Jackson, CFRE, launched SJC in January 2012 as an experimental side gig to her full-time role at Harvard University. By May, projects picked up so quickly that she decided to make SJC her only job. Initial engagements focused on board coaching, writing large grants, crafting donor stories, conducting prospect research, and building cases for support.

Noteworthy: Sarah designed and delivered a quarterly corporate and foundation relations learning curriculum for a major university system in 2015. She won North of Boston Businesswoman of the Year in 2013.

Select clients: Broad Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Judge Baker Children’s Center, Salem State University, UMass Foundation

  • Growth | 2016-2021

SJC built out additional services, including campaign consulting, fundraising assessments, Development operational and staffing plans, staff coaching, and donor messages. Several clients have maintained ongoing partnerships with SJC over the course of many years. Nonprofits have come to know and trust Sarah as a skilled, strategically minded partner.

Noteworthy: SJC engaged in planning and messaging for multi-million and multi-billion dollar campaigns, coached fundraising staff and nonprofit leaders in fundraising best practices, and supported a successful $100M solicitation.
